Companies use PDF format for a number of reasons, including:

Security. It's easy to restrict who can open a file and what they can do with it. For example, you could create a form that people can fill out online and then send back to you as a PDF attachment. When you receive it, you'd have the option of opening it in Adobe Reader or saving it as an image file (a JPEG or TIFF). If someone tries to open the PDF in another program, such as Microsoft Word, nothing happens.

Compatibility. A PDF file is compatible with all operating systems and does not require any special software to read or edit. You don't need to worry about compatibility issues when sending out documents that are only available in PDF format.

Efficiency. You can add text boxes, links and other features that would be impossible using simple text documents alone. You can also convert simple text documents into PDFs — if they're not too long — which makes them easier to read onscreen than if they were just plain text files saved with no formatting whatsoever and no hyperlinks added at all

What is the OCR format?

The OCR format is a text-based image format that stores images with their associated text. The goal of this format is to capture the content of an image and store it as structured data.

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, which is a technology used to convert scanned documents into editable text. With OCR, you can search within your image files, or use your camera's camera roll to find an image with text in it and copy out the words.

If you want to see what your photos look like as plain text, you can scan them using this app and view them in any application that supports plain text (like Notepad).

Adobe Acrobat DC, a desktop application for Windows and Mac OS X, can convert PDF files to editable text. However, it does not come with this feature by default. You have to download and install the software from Adobe's website before you can use it.

Once you have installed Adobe Acrobat DC, you can convert any PDF file into an editable document by opening the application and selecting the "Convert" icon from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select "Convert To" from the drop-down menu and then choose "Text" from the list of options. You'll see a new window appear where you can select which pages you want to convert and where they should be placed in your new document. Click "OK" when you're done making changes, then click on "Convert."
